Barley is an 8 year old, mixed breed dog who was originally found roaming, and spent time at Stamford Animal Care & Control in Connecticut. A shelter volunteer, Martina, is temporarily fostering him to give him a break from the shelter as he awaits a person or family to call his own.
A handsome dog, Barley has shiny, soft, apricot fur and white paws that seem to flash as he prances. He greets you with a full body wiggle of joy. He's polite around the home, housetrained, and stays off furniture (he's happy to accept belly rubs and snuggles on his dog bed). He likes stuffed toys, but instead of ripping them apart, he usually buries them to play with later. For exercise, he loves leashed walks and chasing squirrels in a fenced yard. He'll do best in a home where he's the only pet.
Barley is very mellow, and will love all the attention from the lucky, kind person who chooses him as a companion.

Are you a military member? Barley is Pets for Patriots eligible, which entitles qualifying military professionals and veterans to discounted medical care for his full life, through partner veterinarians. He can be adopted to non-military as well.
